Paso Goes Ice Skating in Raleigh

For this month’s Paso community event we decided to try something a little different…

The Ice Plex in Raleigh is the only Olympic sized sheet of ice in North Carolina, with plenty of space for you to glide around and perform your double or triple axles -I know I will.

What’s even better?

If you are with the Paso crew, you get 2 hours of skating and skate rental for only $5.50.

Thank Dale Vanderpool down at Ice Plex for the sweet Paso discount.

If you would like to come but don’t attend classes, let us know and we will put you on our list.

When: Sunday, February 28th @ 1:30pm
Where: Ice Plex, 2601 N Raleigh Blvd.
Cost: $5.50 for Paso crew or associates. Includes skate rental.

That’s the same day as early Latin dancing and since people will be in Raleigh anyway I hope some can make it to the Elk’s Lodge afterwords. I might pop in for a visit if I’m not scheduled to work at that time, but no skating for me. The last time I did that I busted my a## real good.

Yep Tonia, that is exactly what we were intending to do. That’s a big reason we made it on that date/time.

You know, last time I went ice skating, I noticed people fell a lot less than rollerskating.

I think the thought of ice keeps people on their best behavior… :)

Honestly, I like ice skating so much I thought about buying my own pair of skates.

I was a mad roller skater when I was growing up and as a teen. Last time I went I did okay, but man did my thighs ache afterwords. It’s fun and a good workout. It should be fun.

They are awesome Canadian WCS dancers. I think Tessa was in one of the YouTube clips I sent to you. She can also Lindy.

By the way, this Tuesday, February 9 is the WCS social for Music and Dance Academy so Wes will be allowing people to come for the 6:30 pm level 1 review and then social dancing from 7:30-9:30 pm. You and Steph and any other people who want to review or try WCS should come. It’s at Benson Memorial on Creedmoor Road near Crabtree Valley Mall. It’s $2 for the review and the dance.

There will also be a repeat of the WCS workshop Wes taught in January on Sunday, February 21st. That’s the beginner and intermediate level workshops. Cost is $5 for one and $8 for both workshops. I’m pretty sure that most beginners who took them last month can use the review, so hopefully some of you will come back. It’s really the best deal for the level of teaching provided in a workshop.

Here are a couple of other videos I like. The Kyle and Sarah video is really fantastic. They are a great couple. Enjoy. I’ll be at Loafers practicing my WCS tonight…
